Easter as a heart reality.

Easter has come and gone. Do you feel any different?

Right now we have an opportunity to say goodbye to the past and embrace the future.

Right now we have an opportunity to turn away from the old and live in the new.

It’s all a matter of perspective. What eyes do you see with?

What is celebrated at Easter is much, much more than a historical event. It is an event to be experienced in the heart again and again.

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” - 1 CORINTHIANS 15:14

The resurrection of Jesus opened up an entirely new epoch in God’s connection with His creation. It took place in a garden, was announced to a woman, and initiated a new creation.

Resurrection clears the ground of all presuppositions about God and His will. Christ is raised and we are raised with Him, raised from the dead into an entirely new mode of being. Still human, yes, but now the destination of God’s movement from heaven.

From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” — 2 CORINTHIANS 5:16-21

From now on…

This means in the light of resurrection we see no one according to our natural judgements. The conclusions and assessments that we arrive at in our human intelligence, even about Christ, are not relevant.

If anyone is in Christ…

In Christ. I only know an inkling of what this entails, but it is there to be explored and discovered.

In Christ you are a new creation. If I saw the ‘new creation’ me it would make so much difference. If you saw the new creation within you, maybe your problems would fall away.

The Greek actually says, “If anyone is in Christ—new creation!” This is so much bigger than us as individuals. In Christ, we see that all things have become new.

You have the ability to see all things anew. Open the eyes of your heart and begin to look. Don’t look through the eyes of judgement, condemnation and hopelessness.

I encourage you to read Chapter 20 of my book, John: A Prophetic Revelation. It will help you to recognise resurrection life when it appears.

God bless you!
